It always pays, dearies, to have a peek at Weather.com, that one might learn if the forces of Nature might be cooperative. I'm hoping they are, as far as tomorrow goes, as I have said that I was doing Sterling Forest; the last thing I need now, especially at the last minute, would be for me to ride out there, only to learn that they might postpone things due to inclement weather! As you goodlies know, nobody likes a drench'd Dragonmaster!

    Things 2 Know!

Wednesday, August 5, 2009, 03:39 PM EST [General]

I shall soon close in on Missive #300 in my RenSpace.com Blog (Huzzah!), but I know I'm going to have a tough time dealing with things! Which is why I'm going to escape to one of my two home Renaissance Faires --- namely, beloved and glorious Sterling Forest!

Oh, I know what you Mortals are saying: "C'mon, isn't Sterling Forest so incredibly monotonous?" Maybe, but the more they keep finding new ways for Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham to do battle with each other (and yes, Goodness triumphs, yadda yadda yadda!), the easier it is for me to put up with up it.

And as usual, Her Majesty remains too busy to chat with this foolish old Wizard (that would be me), so I fear that I shall have little option but to grin and bear it. Ah, me.

I shall return Monday, when I'm properly sane again. I hope.

Unnecessary Complications and How to Uncomplicate Them

Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 10:36 AM EST [General]

Great! Just when things couldn't be any more stupid than they already are ---- the smallest branch in the entire New York Public Library system, the Macomb's Bridge Branch, in its utter idiocy, doesn't even have Chase's Annual Events, 2009 Edition, in its Reference only section!

Bah humbug! I am now forced, dearests, into taking on a situation in which I must take matters into mine own hands and uncomplicate stuff personally! I mean, I have to now very likely trudge from one Library branch to another --- and all this, just to do my blarsted $%^&#*#)( dirty work!

My apologies, dear goodlies, for having inflicted that rather foul-temper'd display of my verbal capabilities upon you, but you'd do likewise, I would wot, were your back forced 'gainst the wall, with little or no ability to seek out alternatives on one's own! As you know, friends, where motorists have road rage, we Wizards have Mage rage; and you have, I must regret, just seen an example of how capable I am of having to deal with that. I shall now have to log off and pursue an alternative, that my intended mission should be accomplish'd!

Konrad and Brenwen: A Merry Toast!

Thursday, July 23, 2009, 04:07 PM EST [General]

How's this for a birthday present, dearests?

Know, then, that Konrad and Brenwen have once more assumed the titles of Prince and Princess of the SCA's Eastern Kingdom; and will once more become King and Queen of same, when their Coronation takes place on Saturday, October 3rd, in Albany, New York!

As you know, I greeted Konrad and Brenwen last year when they attended our Medieval Festival at Fort Tryon Park; it had long been a wish of mine that Their Eastern Majesties should join us for that one special day. With the Festival set to mark its Silver Jubilee on Sunday, October 4th, I have already alerted Konrad and Brenwen to include the Festival in their first Royal Progress as King and Queen! Oh, joy! I do hope I get the chance to say hello to them again!

    Coming Soon: Missive #300

Wednesday, July 22, 2009, 03:34 PM EST [General]

Fair warning, ye who toil hither at RenSpace.com:

As I close in on Missive #400 at my Diary of Magecraft, I will soon post Missive #300 here at this blog, here at RenSpace.com. Alas, my back remaineth 'gainst ye wall as I inscribe these words; for, as ye knowst, 'pon the 26th Moon of October, by decree of those responsible for Yahoo!, Inc., GeoCities lives no more. Drat, drat, draaaaat!!!

(Helluva way to cellybrate Master Richard's birthday, eh what?)

There is, however, one hope, and though I see it not happening, I must spit it out nonetheless: Microsoft MUST acquire full controlling interest in Yahoo!, Inc. There, I said it. Being a geek at heart is not what it be crack'd up to be, say I, but, as ever, the High Istari warned me there'd be days like this!
